What's Campfire?

Campfire is a video educational platform that brings people together to share experiences and gain resources about remote working. It eliminates the gap between experienced remote workers and clueless newly transitioned workers.

Problem Statement
The newly transitioned remote workers needed to be more knowledgeable about remote work and social isolation due to COVID-19.

  • Zoom Fatigue

  • Time Zone Difference

  • Long working hours

  • Family Distraction

  • Social Isolation

Solution
Campfire is a community-building app for remote workers that brings people together to share experiences and gain resources about remote working.

  • A community to share and learn

  • A curated work-from-home platform

  • Expert Guidance

Goal
To create a community-building platform where people can share remote stories in a safe and warm environment.

Expert Interview

Michele Nelson, Psychotherapist

“Campfire will be a great product to be recomm. to my patients.”

The remote workers feel overwhelmed by the COVID transition and need help maintaining work-life balance.

Empathize

I compared various video platforms that help people get answers about remote working. However, there was no such platform for this purpose, so I included videonetworking, and learning platforms.

Video Platforms

I started looking into various social media platforms for answers. I found a lot of self-help and “how to do” videos about remote working. But they were very time-consuminglengthy, and distracting. I ended up losing a lot of time. It became even more frustrating.

In the secondary research, I found out that there was an increase in people watching YouTube videos to learn tips and tricks to adjust to the remote working environment.

User Interviews & Survey

“My people are distributed mostly across the US, some in Canada, the UK, Italy, Poland, and a few in China and Japan. Once in a while, there will be an 8 am meeting that requires me to get up at 4:30 am. Not a fan of that.”

Extrovert - Half of them said that the lack of spontaneous conversation is the biggest downfall.

”I like to get out of the house to work so that it creates a mental separation. I am setting up activities before and after work, like playing games or reading something for pleasure for 30 minutes.

Introvert - The other half said they prefer WFH. People who hated the water cooler chats are glad they no longer have to do it!
